Ang'ata Tarangire Camp is a semi-permanent luxury tented camp set in the heart of Tarangire National Park at the Makamia Rocks site, overlooking the Tarangire River. The unfenced camp offers 180-degree views toward Tarangire Hill and sits just 5 km from the Silale Swamp Plains, where elephants gather in the thousands during the dry season. Kuro Airstrip is approximately 1 km away.
The camp has 8 guest tents including a two-tent interconnected family unit with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a shared living room. Each tent sits on a wooden platform and features an en-suite bathroom with hot shower, flush toilet, vanity desk, lockable safe, mosquito nets, and an outside terrace. Dining is full-board with freshly baked bread daily, continental and local cuisine, and private bush lunches prepared by camp chefs in the wilderness.
Activities include daytime and night game drives, walking safaris with armed rangers, hot-air balloon flights over the baobab forest, private bush lunches, sundowner excursions, and bird watching. The Tarangire ecosystem is renowned for its ancient baobab woodland, large elephant herds, tree-climbing pythons, and rich predator activity. Evenings are spent around the campfire under open skies.
Tarangire National Park is famous for ancient baobab landscapes and some of Tanzania’s largest seasonal elephant herds. During the dry season, wildlife concentrates along the Tarangire River, making it one of the strongest parks for classic game drives and birding.
