Experience the awe-inspiring Great Migration during the calving season in the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu region, usually from January to March. Witness over a million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles giving birth on the lush plains, attracting predators such as lions and cheetahs in exciting wildlife interactions. This is a nature lover's paradise, providing unmatched opportunities to observe newborns taking their first steps amidst dramatic predator-prey dynamics—a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Welcome to the beginning of your safari adventure and welcome to Tanzania! You've selected a wonderful destination for your safari journey. At 06:30 AM, we'll meet you at your hotel and start with an introductory briefing before we set off on the trip you've been dreaming of. A drive of about 3 hours will take us to Ngorongoro Crater for an incredible game viewing experience.
You'll never forget the first time you see Ngorongoro Crater from above. Gazing out from the rim of this extraordinary volcanic crater is like looking down upon a lost world of wildlife and breathtaking beauty. The drive down into the crater will be equally special, taking you onto the crater floor where nature reigns and no human may spend the night. You'll spend the better part of a day exploring this remarkable place, witnessing its lions, hyenas, black rhinos, elephants, flamingos, and so much more.
And when it's time to leave, you'll find yourself looking back over your shoulder, trying to hold these experiences in your memory.
Lunch, Dinner
Meals included
After your early breakfast, we will drive to Ndutu and the southern Serengeti.
Off the main route between Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, and in the far south of the latter, Ndutu offers a smaller-scale, more intimate version of one of Tanzania's premier wildlife regions. It's a fantastic destination year-round, and this is where millions of wildebeest give birth to their calves when the great migration passes through, often with plenty of predators nearby, especially from January to the end of March.
It also has all of the essential elements of the Serengeti's appeal, including vast horizons and incredible wildlife, but without the crowds you'd encounter elsewhere.
Late in the evening, we will drive back to your campsite for a hot dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Meals included
After breakfast, we will pack and leave the conservation area, heading to Arusha town with a brief tour of Mto wa Mbu village.
You'll gain a fascinating insight into local Tanzanian life when you visit the northern town of Mto Wa Mbu. It's a lively, bustling place, home to all 120 of Tanzania's ethnic groups, giving the entire area an unusually multicultural atmosphere. Lake Manyara National Park feels like a world away but is located just beyond the end of the main street.
After this wonderful experience, we will drive to Arusha and drop you off at your hotel.
