Tour highlights
This 4-day, 3-night tour will take you to Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater. Tarangire provides an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife, Serengeti is the country's oldest and largest national park, and Ngorongoro Crater is Africa's "Garden of Eden." These are some of the most renowned parks on Tanzania's northern circuit and are must-visit destinations during your holiday there.
Itinerary
After breakfast, set off for Tarangire National Park. You'll embark on a full-day game drive in the park. Tarangire features a diverse landscape with nine vegetation zones. Ancient baobab trees, the largest in Africa, are scattered throughout, dwarfing the animals that graze beneath them. The Tarangire River, winding through the park, draws a wealth of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and a variety of colorful birds. The park is renowned for having the largest elephant population in Tanzania, and during a safari there, you will have the opportunity to quietly observe many elephant families interacting. With a stop for a picnic lunch at an observatory inside the park, you will be able to watch animals drinking from the river (and often see lions attacking a thirsty zebra or wildebeest), continue game viewing, and finally return to the camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early morning breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying game viewing en route to Serengeti National Park and an evening game drive towards the campsite. As you continue, cresting the hillside, the vast Serengeti unfolds before you, stretching as far as the eye can see. Serengeti means “endless plains” in Kiswahili, and this 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) park is home to more than 2 million large animals, including over a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelle.

Today, you'll wake up very early to embark on a morning safari before breakfast, allowing you to spot animals when they are most active and enjoy a stunning sunrise. The sunrise in the African savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After the game drive, you'll return to the camp for brunch. In the afternoon, you'll transfer to Ngorongoro, the 8th Natural Wonder of the World. With walls 2,000 feet high and a crater floor that spans 102 square miles, the crater is a virtual Noah’s Ark, home to nearly every species of wildlife native to East Africa, including the rare black rhinos. In fact, the crater has the highest concentration of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam and is full of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. The large bull elephants residing here have extremely large tusks due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses.
