This 6-day tour includes a visit to Tarangire National Park for 2 days/1 night, followed by a unique cultural tourism experience in Mto wa Mbu. Next, you will spend 3 days/2 nights in the Serengeti and conclude with 1 day/1 night in Ngorongoro. Accommodation on the second night will be at Fig Tree Lodge, a budget lodge with a private bathroom, while the remaining 4 nights will be spent camping in Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro, with shared bathrooms.

Itinerary

Your safari adventure commences with a pick-up from your hotel and a picturesque 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its magnificent elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. You will embark on a game drive in an open-roof vehicle, exploring seasonal swamps, savannah, and the Tarangire River, which is inhabited by a diverse array of wildlife such as giraffes, lions, zebras, leopards, and various bird species. Take a break for a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint before resuming your game drive. In the evening, you will reach your campsite within the park for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the wilderness.

Start your day early with a sunrise game drive in Tarangire National Park. After breakfast, keep exploring the park before heading to Mto wa Mbu for lunch and a cultural experience. In the afternoon, you’ll visit local communities, explore banana farms, rice plantations, traditional artworks, forests, and nearby waterfalls. You can choose to discover the area on foot or by bicycle. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Fig Tree Lodge.

After breakfast, depart for the Serengeti, enjoying a scenic 4 to 5-hour drive filled with exciting game viewing along the bumpy road through the crater highlands to the expansive Serengeti plains. Stop for a picnic lunch near Naabi Hill Gate before entering the park for an afternoon game drive. After experiencing a stunning sunset, continue to Seronera campsite (Tumbili) for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, you will spend the entire day immersed in the wonders of Serengeti National Park. Start with an early morning game drive at sunrise, returning to camp for breakfast. After preparing a lunch, set off on a full-day safari across the stunning Serengeti plains, in search of the Big Five and other incredible wildlife.

Serengeti offers more than just large mammals; over 500 bird species have been documented here, from the towering ostrich and unique secretary bird of the open grasslands to the majestic black eagles soaring above the savannah. While you continue your wildlife exploration throughout the day, you will enjoy the breathtaking landscapes before heading back to camp at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.

We will begin the day early by leaving the campsite around 6:00 a.m. for a sunrise game drive when the animals are most active. In the mid-morning, we will pause at a picnic site to have breakfast in the bush. Following that, the game drive will resume before coming back to camp around noon for a hot lunch. After packing up, we will leave the Serengeti and proceed to Ngorongoro, where you will have dinner and stay overnight at Simba Campsite.

At 6:00 a.m., we will board the safari vehicle and descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater with a packed breakfast. This remarkable conservation area, spanning approximately 260 square kilometers (100 square miles) and nearly 20 kilometers (12 miles) in diameter, is home to nearly every species of East African wildlife, including the rare black rhino, which we may be lucky enough to spot. You will have around 5 to 6 hours to explore the diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife.

After the game drive, we will ascend from the crater and return to the campsite for your final meal with us. Then, we will drive back to Arusha, with an expected arrival time between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
