9-Day Great Migration Adventure Mara River

Following breakfast, you will depart Arusha and head toward Tarangire National Park, a destination famous for its massive herds of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and abundant wildlife along the Tarangire River. You will enjoy a full day of game driving, with opportunities to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and a wide variety of bird species. A picnic lunch will be served within the park to allow for uninterrupted wildlife viewing. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and transfer to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Travel through spectacular landscapes as you head toward the iconic Serengeti National Park, passing the Ngorongoro Highlands along the way. You will arrive in the Central Serengeti (Seronera area), which is renowned for its year-round wildlife and high predator activity. Enjoy an afternoon game drive across the vast plains, which are dotted with rocky kopjes and riverine areas. You can expect to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of grazing animals before returning to your mid-range camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti.

After breakfast, you will journey north through the Serengeti, enjoying game viewing en route as the landscape gradually shifts to rolling hills and river systems. The Northern Serengeti is famous for the seasonal wildebeest migration and a strong presence of predators. You will spend the afternoon on game drives exploring these more remote areas which have fewer vehicles. Wildlife sightings here may include crocodiles, hippos, big cats, and the migrating herds. Dinner and overnight will be at a lodge or tented camp in the Northern Serengeti.

Continue your exploration of the Serengeti ecosystem with both morning and afternoon game drives, tracking wildlife movements between the open plains and river crossings. Your guide will focus on locating predators and large concentrations of herbivores. You will enjoy a picnic or hot lunch during the safari to maximize your time in the field. This day offers excellent photography opportunities and close encounters with iconic wildlife. In the evening, you will return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will travel back toward the Central Serengeti, enjoying game viewing along the way. Spend the day exploring different sections of the park, including river valleys and grasslands that attract a diverse range of wildlife. Keep an eye out for lions resting on kopjes, cheetahs hunting on the open plains, and elephants moving between water sources. Enjoy a relaxed safari pace that allows you time to appreciate the vastness of the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge or tented camp.

Depart the Serengeti after breakfast and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending into the cooler highlands. You will enjoy scenic views of volcanic landscapes, Maasai villages, and lush forests. Arrive at your lodge near the crater rim or in the highlands, where you can take in panoramic views and fresh mountain air. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, relaxing at the lodge or enjoying short walks. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at a comfortable lodge near Ngorongoro.

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a truly memorable game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site hosts an incredible concentration of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. You will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. In the afternoon, you will ascend the crater rim and head to your accommodation for the evening.

After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, which is known for its diverse habitats including groundwater forests, open plains, and the soda lake. Be on the lookout for elephants, giraffes, hippos, flamingos, and the famous tree-climbing lions. After the safari, you will drive back to Arusha and continue to your desired drop-off location or the airport.
