Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge is a welcoming mid-range property nestled in the hills of the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. Its name, derived from the local Rufumbira dialect, means "a cool, comfortable home" — an apt description for this intimate lodge that sits just a 10-minute walk from the Rushaga gorilla trekking gate. The lodge offers 10 rooms, including six luxury cottages and four standard rooms, each built with local materials and featuring en-suite bathrooms with hot showers and private balconies with views over the surrounding Bwindi forest.

The lodge's proximity to Rushaga Gate makes it one of the most conveniently located bases for mountain gorilla trekking and the gorilla habituation experience in the southern sector of Bwindi.
