Mweya Safari Lodge

Mweya Safari Lodge occupies one of the most spectacular settings of any lodge in East Africa, perched on a peninsula in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park where the Kazinga Channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George. From the lodge's terrace and infinity pool, guests look out across hippo-filled waters to the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains — the legendary "Mountains of the Moon" — rising dramatically on the western horizon. Wildlife regularly wanders through the lodge grounds, and it is not uncommon to spot elephants, buffalo, and warthogs from your private balcony.

The lodge offers 54 rooms ranging from classic safari rooms and air-conditioned deluxe rooms to exclusive cottages and canvas-walled safari tents, all featuring en-suite bathrooms and views of the channel or surrounding parkland. Guests can unwind at the infinity pool overlooking the Kazinga Channel, indulge in treatments at the on-site spa and health club, or enjoy international and Ugandan cuisine at the Kazinga Restaurant.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda's most biodiverse reserves, and Mweya serves as the ideal base for exploring it. Activities include boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel, game drives through the Kasenyi Plains for tree-climbing lions, chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura Gorge, and birding expeditions across the park's 600+ recorded species.
