Twin Lakes Safari Lodge

About this accommodation

Mid-rangeUganda

Twin Lakes Safari Lodge is a rustic and intimate mid-range retreat perched on the edge of the Great Rift Valley escarpment in the Bunyaruguru crater field, just outside the boundary of Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. Sitting approximately 270 metres above the plains, the lodge commands sweeping panoramic views across the savannah to Lake Edward, Lake George, the Kazinga Channel, and the snow-capped peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains.

The nine spacious cottages are built in a contemporary African style with grass-thatched roofs and local timbers, each featuring en-suite bathrooms, queen-sized beds, and private verandas designed to maximize the breathtaking scenery. The lodge serves as an ideal base for exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park — game drives for tree-climbing lions, boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel, and chimpanzee tracking in the nearby Kyambura Gorge.

Back at the lodge, guests can unwind at the outdoor swimming pool overlooking the escarpment, enjoy bush breakfasts and barbecue dinners, or simply relax on their veranda watching the sun set over the Rwenzori range. The lodge operates on solar energy, emphasizing a low-impact approach to hospitality.
